Veterans Stadium: The Vet's 700 Level

Veterans Stadium (1971-2004) was notorious for the 700 Level, the stadium's upper deck where Eagles fans behaved so wildly that the city installed a courtroom and jail inside the stadium in 1997. Fights were so common that visiting fans were warned not to wear opposing team colors. The 700 Level produced some of Philadelphia's most infamous sports moments. The best-known story of all — fans pelting Santa Claus with snowballs in 1968 — actually happened at Franklin Field, though the myth often attaches to the Vet. The stadium was imploded in 2004.
