The Free Library's Rare Book Department on the Parkway holds a leaf from a Gutenberg Bible, first editions of Poe and Dickens, and medieval manuscripts. The library's main building, modeled after palaces on the Place de la Concorde in Paris, is architecturally stunning — and completely free to enter. The rare book room feels like stepping into Hogwarts. The Free Library was founded in 1891.
