Philadelphia's Chinatown Friendship Gate at 10th and Arch Streets is the first authentic Chinese gate in America built by artisans from China (1984). Artisans from Beijing and Tianjin built it using traditional techniques and materials. The 40-foot arch features ornate tiles and dragons and was a joint project between Philadelphia and its sister city, Tianjin, China. The neighborhood behind it has excellent dim sum, hand-pulled noodles, and late-night boba.
