Inside the lobby of the Curtis Center at 6th and Walnut Streets hangs "Dream Garden," a 15-by-49-foot glass mosaic made by Tiffany Studios in 1916 from a painting by Maxfield Parrish. The mosaic contains over 100,000 pieces of hand-fired favrile glass in 260 different color tones. In 1998, casino magnate Steve Wynn tried to buy it and move it to Las Vegas, but after a public outcry the city declared it a historic object, and in 2001 a $3.5 million grant from the Pew Charitable Trusts let the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts buy it and keep it in Philadelphia permanently.
